Press Release: Rev. John Pofi Campaign organization challenges PLSG to implement petition by Bokkos women after protest
PRESS RELEASE
The John Pofi Governorship Campaign Organisation under the Social Democratic Party wishes to commend the resilience, doggedness, focus, commitment and boldness of the Internally Displaced Women of Daffo, Bokkos local government area who painfully left their "comfort" zones to come to Jos the state capital and voice out their displeasure over the merciless killings in their communities.
What these women have done under the leadership of Mrs Comfort Matawal is what the John Pofi Campaign Organisation has been clamouring for from the peace loving citizens of plateau state. We must unite against any form of terrorism, injustice and ethnic cleansing.
We must make it abundantly clear that while we do not subscribe to any violent means of conflict resolution, we encourage our people to always come out and speak against evil in our society, Evil is Evil.
We therefore appeal to other communities in plateau state to follow suit and peacefully take to the streets whenever their rights are infringed upon.
While we wait and watch patiently for the action of the Plateau State House of Assembly haven received a formal petition from the poor women, we hope they will not receive the petition and keep it to gather dust on the shelf like many others before it.
This pathetic sight in a state where peace is said to have been restored is a clear reminder that peace is still alien in the state.
This will also serve as a clarion call on the state government to TRULY work for peace since peace which seems to be within is still far away in a distant land.
Reverend John Pofi, JP who has been working for peace in and outside plateau state is the best man for the job.
We wish Plateau people eternal peace.
Yours in selfless service,
Rev John Pofi, JP
SDP Governorship Aspirant, Plateau state.

SDP Governorship aspirant Amb. John Pofi clamps down on Gov. Lalong for unfilfilled campaign promises
The recent visit by Governor Simon Bako Lalong to the state secretariat is a good morale booster to the engine room of government.
We in the John Pofi Campaign Organisation wish to make it clear to the innocent civil servants in the state not to jubilate yet as such visits which would have served that purpose, can only do so when done at the right time at least once a year.
This is the same person who once told the civil servants that he will be going to the state secretariat to interact with them regularly but sadly, the first time he went there briefly was few days to clocking three years in office.
We view this visit as not only deceptive but an unintelligent campaign tour.
It is time my good people of Plateau state shine their eyes and see the antics of this clueless administration which always based its human capital development on payment of salaries.
It is only logical that when you work even if it is for the devil, you should be given your due as at when due. So, to count payment of salaries as achievement is not only laughable but a charade.
We in the John Pofi Campaign Organisation under the Social Democratic Party have nothing against the governor of Plateau state, but we are acutely aware that posterity will be harsh on us if we see doom and remain tongue tied just as in the words of the fiery and renowned Archbishop Emeritus of South Africa, Desmond Tutu that, "if you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."
Fully armed with the unbiased judgment of history, we will not rest but chose the path of the people (the oppressed) that is why we are telling our esteemed civil servants to beware and not be carried away by the sweet drums of 2019 politics by repeating the same mistake they made in 2015.
John Pofi stands in between the young and the old, with clear vision that will take us to the Plateau of our dream.
Remain blessed, the peace loving people of Plateau state.

Popular Human Rights activist IG Wala backs founder of Sahara Reporters Sowore for Nigeria's president
On his official Facebook page, I.G Wala wrote:
THE REVOLUTIONIST IS HERE!
When Omoyele Sowore started Sahara Reporters, most of those he approached for collaboration told him not to waste his time because it will not work. But at the end, same people came begging to be part of it. Sahara Reporters is the continental voice of democracy and a voice to Nigerians. The uncompromising Sowore has since declared his intention to contest the 2019 Presidential Seat. This decision is giving the corrupt & thieving elites a sleepless night already. Remember when he was paired recently with the analogue Minister of Communication that lack good manners of communication on media. Sowore's declaration is a call for the true political revolution that will retire the failed generation of those that have continued to wreck havoc to Nigeria's economy. Enough of empty promises, enough of ruining the future of the teeming youth of this great country of ours and enough of bloodshed as a result of sheer recklessness.
THIS IS TO WELCOME THE REVOLUTIONIST COMRADE IN THE STRUGGLE TO THE FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY, ABUJA. #TakeItBack

He wrote on his Facebook page thus:
"Women and children are the worst victims of the herder men attacks in Benue state.
Today INEC Benue visited the IDP camp in continuation of our cooperate social responsibility and voter education. Widows and extremely poor women were trained to acquire skill on soap, pomade and pastries making to economically empower them to have life after the crisis. In addition, we presented foodstuff and other relief materals to the displaced people.
There is still need for food, clothing, medication and educational resources for the kids in the camps.
I want to use this medium to call on all spirited individuals and groups to support the IDPs in Benue."

Charley Boy leads protest in Abuja, calls for the prosecution of Sen. Mantu over poll rigging confession
Maverick showbiz superstar, Charles Oputa, a.k.a Charlyboy, has led the `Ourmumudondo’ group, on a peaceful protest to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), over Sen Ibrahim Mantu’s alleged poll-rigging confession.
The protest which took place on Friday in Abuja, was to urge the electoral umpire to prosecute Mantu on electoral malpractices over his recent ‘poll-rigging confession.’
According to the group, the protest is to remind the INEC that Mantu’s incidence is an opportunity for it to demonstrate its resolve to prosecute electoral offenders and sanitise the electoral system.
Mr Raphael Adebayo, National Secretary of the ‘Ourmumudondo’ movement, alleged that Mantu, a former Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, has revealed how he helped his party (PDP) to win elections in the past.
“The Ourmumudondo Movement deems it imperative to ask the Independent Electoral Commssion(INEC)to immediately initiate the prosecution of Senator Ibrahim Mantu.
“Ibrahim Mantu, who was a senator on the platform of the PDP, recently confessed how he rigged elections during an interview on a live programme aired on a private Television channel.
“He admitted to bribing electoral and security officials, and even agents of other political parties in order not to raise any objection to the outcomes of the elections.
“We believe he has confessed to serious crimes against the nation, and this is a good opportunity for INEC to demonstrate its resolve to prosecute electoral offenders as a deterrent to others in future,” he said.
Adebayo noted that Nigeria’s electioneering processes since the fourth republic is largely characterised with imperfections, and has therefore discouraged many electorates from voting.
He therefore urged INEC to take urgent and genuine steps towards sanitising the electoral process, and thereby regaining the trust of Nigerian voters, especially as the 2019 general election approaches.
Highlight of the protest was the submission of the group’s protest letter containing its grievances and demands, addressed to the Chairman of INEC Mr Mahmood Yakubu.
OurMumuDonDo Movement is a non-political coalition of Nigerians from all backgrounds that advocates national reawakening towards holding leaders responsible and engendering citizens’ participation in order to promote good governance at all levels.

2019: Football Legend Kanu Nwankwo declares to contest for Nigeria's president
The former Arsenal FC and Inter Milan forward said he was inspired to aspire for presidency by the feat attained by George Weah..
Recall that Weah, who had a very successful football career in Europe, was elected President of Liberia in the 2017 election after defeating the incumbent Vice President Joseph Boakai, and sworn in on 22 January 2018.
In an interview with Goal.com, Kanu said: “My presence here today is about the future of our country and the happiness of our people.“The last 18 years of leadership has witnessed a decline in all critical sectors of life in Nigeria, plus general insecurity in the land.”
“Also, I’ll do all it takes to wrestle corruption which has become blatant and widespread. The rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption,” Kanu, who also had a successful career in Europe, added.
“If I get your mandate, I promise to do things differently and restore honour and integrity to public service by keeping the best and attracting the best.
“George Weah’s victory in Liberia is a pointer that this dream is very realistic with you all on my side,” he said.
Kanu, 41, will be hoping to unseat incumbent president Muhammadu Buhari during the Nigerian general elections which will be held in Nigeria on 16 February 20

Call For Self Defence: Rt. Hon. George Daika throws weight behind Gen.TY Danjuma
Former Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly and Gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the PDP, Rt. Hon. George Edwards Daika has thrown his weight behind the statement credited to Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma as it concerns the compromised security architecture of Nigeria.
According to him, those criticising the General for speaking the truth should have a rethink and Nigerians should take their dissenting opinions with a pinch of salt as self defence is constitutional and enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.
Killings continues unabated across the country especially in the Middle Belt region where ethnic cleansing is ongoing at an alarming rate with the security agencies unable to stop the drift. Dong village which is just about three (3) kilometers from the Maxwell Kolbe cantonment, (Rukuba Barracks) in Plateau State has witnessed recurring attacks leaving many dead.
What more complicity on the part of the Armed Forces than their inability to stop killings in their backyard?
What of the Inspector General of Police who disobeyed the President on the insecurity in Benue State and nothing happened, he asked.
He said rather than criticising Gen.TY Danjuma who has contributed tremendously towards a better and United Nigeria , he should be commended for his patriotic bluntness on the sad situation of things in the country.
He added, Gen. Danjuma statement should be seen as a wake up call on the authorities to rise up to their constitutional responsibilities.
Rt. Hon. George Edwards Daika calls for an independent commission of inquiry to look into the weighty allegations of Gen. TY Danjuma as the Government through the actions and utterances of ranking security heads like the Minister of Defence and the Inspector General of Police itself, cannot be trusted to objectively bring to book the bad eggs colluding with the Armed bandits.
He further calls on Nigerians to be law abiding while remaining vigilant to defend themselves whenever the need arises since the State has failed in it's primary responsibility of protecting lives and properties of its citizens.

ECWA President calls for the unconditional release of Leah Sherubu from Boko Haram's den
A PRESS RELEASE BY THE ECWA PRESIDENT –
REV DR JEREMIAH M. GADO – ON THE NON RELEASE OF MISS LEAH SHERUBU WHO
WAS ABDUCTED BY BOKO HARAM ALONGSIDE OTHER STUDENTS IN DAPCHI, YOBE
STATE, NIGERIA
The
Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) salutes the courage, doggedness,
and faith of Leah Sherubu who was abducted by Boko Haram in Dapchi
alongside other students of her secondary school. Leah is a member of
ECWA in Dapchi. She is the only Christian girl among the abductees. She
has not been released because she refused to denounce her faith in the
Lord Jesus Christ as a Christian.
We in ECWA are
thankful that the federal government negotiated the release of all the
abductees including Leah. We are also very happy that 104 of the girls
plus two other victims have been released as at Wednesday, March 21,
2018 and are in safe hands. However, we are very surprised and sad that
the Boko Haram abductors have refused to release Leah Sherubu simply
because she is a Christian and would not give up her Christian faith for
her release.
We call on the Federal Government and
all its agencies to ensure the immediate release of Leah Sherubu who is
a member of ECWA without any conditions. Leah is a law abiding
Nigerian who is at liberty to practice her Christian profession to the
fullest.
We condemn in strong terms any attempt to
forcefully convert anyone from one religion to another. As a church we
continue to pray for her release and the release of all abducted
Nigerians.
Signed
Rev Romanus Ebenwokodi, ECWA PRO for ECWA PRESIDENT

Rundown of people-oriented projects & economic empowerment programmes by Hon. Dachung Bagos
It is true that true and genuine success of a person is measured by the number of persons he/she is able to impact positively.
The biggest and most profiting investments are those done on human beings.
Value addition to human beings and the society should be paramount and the target of every human being.
In all we do in life, our focus should be to impact and influence lives positively and not live the lives to impress other.
It is with the aforementioned that Mr. Dachung Musa Bagos has been shining the light, empowering the less privileged and carrying out people-oriented programmes to bring succor to the people with the aim of equipping the next generation to get them ready to take leadership positions in different professions a in order to make them useful to themselves, families and to the society.
To Mr. Dachung Musa Bagos, seeing people fulfilled, happy and empowered to fulfill their destinies in life is his target.
He has lived most of his life touching lives, giving hope to the hopeless and being voice to the violence.
He once said "why should I be happy and fulfilled when there are millions out there who don't have food to eat, clothes to wear, water to drink, work to do and shelter"
"I want my life to be that of positive impacts and influence to humanity and the society"
"I want to shine the light and make the society bright as well as invest well in people and equip them for future tasks"
